Face Painting Common Questions
What types of paint are used?Professional cake face and body makeup. All products are FDA approved made with either cocoa butter or bees wax. We never use acrylic paint which has been known to cause allergic reactions. Regardless of who you use, always ask your artist what products they use on your childs skin. How long do they last?Water soluble paints typically last 1-2 days. Hybrid, or alcohol-based makeup can last up to a week depending on skin type. How can you remove the paint? All paints are easily removed with soap and warm water or makeup remover. Sometimes sensitive skin may stain, in which case the entire design can be removed by washing twice. How long does it take to apply? Most face painting designs can be created in 2-3 minutes. Application time will vary depending upon the level of detail and the skill/speed of the artist. How do you apply your makeup? We use either sponges, brushes or airbrush. How large a group can you handle? On average we complete 15-20 full faces per hour. Here again, it depends on the skill and speed of your artist. To accomodate very large crowds we recommend 1/4 and 1/2 face designs which can be completed at a pace of 40-60 per hour. What other applicants do you have for face art?We offer bright, colorful neons, metallics, shimmers, glitters, gems and even latex. Whatever you need, we have it and have done it before. Can I do anything to preserve the art? With water soluble paints, try not to sweat heavily or go swimming; really. Barrier spray can help seal the skin and preserve the design, but only to an extent. With alcohol-based, or hybrid makeup, designs will withstand sweating and the potentially harmful affects of chlorine and other pool chemicals. How many designs are available? It all depends on the skill of your artist. Every artist will provide a showcase book with numerous samples. If you dont see anything of interest to you, you can just use your imagination. For specific ideas, pictures can help. How much space does ShowOffs need to work their magic? An area about 6'x6' will do. A power outlet, small table and chair are helpful but we can do without them if necessary. | | Last Updated on Wednesday, 09 January 2013 20:02 | - Airbrush Tattoos

Airbrush Tattoos Common Questions
What types of paint are used?ShowOffs uses only professional high-definition hybrid makeup and tattoo inks and all products are FDA approved for use on human skin. We never use acrylic paint which has been known to cause allergic reactions. Regardless of who you use, always ask your artist what products they use on your childs skin. How long do they last?Tattoo inks can last up to an entire week, depending on skin type, and can be removed with rubbing alcohol if desired. Designs applied with hybrid makeup last 1-2 days and are more easily removed with soap and warm water. Ease of removal makes hybrid makeup the natural choice for facial applications. How can you remove the tattoo?Hybrid makeup is easily removed with soap and warm water. Tattoo inks come off with rubbing alcohol and a little bit of elbow grease. How long does it take to apply? The beauty of offering tattoos at your next event is the speed with which they can be applied. Mere seconds is all it takes to spray elaborate, multi-color designs. Of course, application time will vary depending upon the level of detail and the skill/speed of the artist. With large crowds where speed is of the essence, there's no better choice for entertainment than temporary airbrush tattoos by ShowOffs. How do you apply your makeup? With airbrush, of course. How large a group can you handle?
On average we complete 40-60 multi-color tattoos per hour. Here again, it depends on the skill and speed of your artist. There's no better choice for accomodating very large crowds than temporary airbrush tattoos by ShowOffs! We perform at events ranging from birthday parties to the NFL Super Bowl experience where upwards of 50,000 people were serviced. We have a crew of fast, friendly, professional artists that can be called upon on a moments notice. Where necessary, we send several at a time. And we offer quantity discounts to boot!
Can I do anything to preserve the art?Designs applied with tattoo inks will hold up to just about any natural elements. With hybrid makeup, heavy persperation and harsh swimming pool chemicals are a tattoos worst enemies. Barrier spray can help seal the skin and preserve the design, but only to an extent. Whether using hybrid makeup or tattoo ink, the key to longevity is keeping the skin as dry as possible. Talcum or baby powder can do wonders if you're not planning to jump in the water any time soon. How many designs are available?Although our inventory is much more extensive, we typically carry 70-100 designs to most events. We find that offering children too many choices tends to slow the selection process and thus production. We're also capable of creating custom designs to match company logos and the like. How much space does ShowOffs need to work their magic? An area about 6'x6' will do. A power outlet, small table and chair are helpful but we can do without them if necessary.

Who supplies the prosthetics, if needed? We're happy to work with anything you have. As well, with enough advance notice, we can purchase anything that you may need, sometimes at a wholesale discount. Keep in mind that regular materials lying around your house can make great additions to your makeover. Do you work out of a studio or store?Around Halloween (when things get crazy busy), ShowOffs operates primarily out of Sutton's costume shop in Waterford, Michigan. We've been regulars there since 2004 and the crowds seem to grow bigger every year. We're also available to travel to locations in and around the Detroit Metro area and beyond. Just be sure to make your appointment early to get on the schedule. Do you take appointments? We do take appointments. In fact, we encourage them! Knowing well in advance what your desires are allows us to allocate ample time, acquire the necessary prosthetics, and schedule the right people to give you the best experience possible. Can I reuse prosthetics? We don't encourage sharing prosthetics, but if you have something you personally have worn in the past, chances are we can make use of it again. To be certain, it's best to have it looked over by one of our professional artists in advance of your makeover. That way, if there's any issues, we can order new materials and have them available when the time comes. | | Last Updated on Thursday, 17 March 2011 18:28 | - Nail Art

ShowOffs offers the highest quality services at very competitive rates.
We encourage you to compare our prices with all others you're considering. Just keep in mind that 'cheaper' isn't always better. With ShowOffs you're getting tried and true artists that are fast, friendly, professional and easy to work with. Every artist is highly skilled and personally trained by ShowOffs founder and international artist Donna Nowak. With all our services, very little space is required. Our setup is compact and effective. We believe it's the artistic masterpieces that should stand out, not the artists. And we ALWAYS offer quantity discounts!
Hand Face Painting (8-15 full faces/hour)
Beautiful, custom face paint designs are applied by hand with brushes, sponges and FDA approved makeup designed specifically for use on human skin. Steer clear of any 'artist' who offers to apply acrylic paint to the skin!
Airbrush Face Painting (20-30 full faces/hour)
We use wonderfully artistic stencils designed by ShowOffs Body Art, airbrushes and FDA approved high-definition airbrush makeup formulated for use on human skin to create out-of-this world facial designs at a rapid pace that can't be matched. Designs are applied at very low pressure (much lighter than a hair dryer) that's conforting to even very young children. For large crowds where speed matters, airbrushing beats hand face painting hands down.
Airbrush Tattoos (40-60 tattoos/hour)
A crowd favorite throughout the nation, tattoos are applied using stencils, airbrushes and FDA approved makeup or tattoo inks formulated for use on human skin. With tattoo inks, designs last up to a full week (depending on skin type) but can be removed with rubbing alcohol if desired. Airbrush makeup is more appropriate for facial application as it's more easily removed with soap and water. Designs last 1-2 days. We typically offer 70-100 designs to choose from and will produce custom designs (e.g., event logos) if desired. We find that too many choices tends to slow production.
Body Painting (timing varies depending on complexity)
With everything we do, your safety is our number one concern! Thus, we use only FDA approved makeup specifically formulated for use on human skin. Not only is this the ONLY way to ensure your safety, it also produces the best results that last throughout your event without cracking and flaking away. Beware of less expensive 'artists' willing to spray acrylic paints typically used in automotive applications. Unless you're fond of skin irrations and designs that look ok for only a very short time, steer clear of these folks.
Please call for an estimate.
Special FX (timing varies depending on complexity)
No different than Body Painting (read above), we emphasize safety over all else. When applying prosthetics, we use only the same high-quality products used in blockbuster Hollywood productions. If it passes their tough scrutiny, it's good enough for us!
